Powerful Minds Curriculum was created by Brett Power—a former high school teacher, sales team leader, and homeschooling dad who saw a major gap in how kids were being prepared for the real world. After years in both education and business, Brett realized that students were often great at memorizing facts but lacked the simple, everyday tech skills that real life demands.
As a homeschool parent himself, Brett wanted something better for his own kids something practical, engaging, and flexible enough to fit the rhythms of a homeschool lifestyle. That’s when Microsoft Office for Real Life was born: a self-paced course that teaches Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote through hands-on projects kids can actually use.
We believe education should serve a purpose. Our goal isn’t just to teach software, it’s to help students become confident, independent learners who know how to communicate, organize, and think critically. The tools we teach are the same ones used in school, work, and everyday life and we break them down in a way that’s simple, clear, and approachable for kids.
